The use of free-hanging units provides flexibility and a multitude of acoustical solutions to problems related to acoustical design. Where free-hanging units are used to improve poor acoustics, solitary units give the benefit of diffraction effects, with a larger area of the absorbing patches being exposed to the sound field. Both effects can be used to increase sound absorbing properties. In large, noisy environments such as open-plan areas, restaurants, shopping centres etc., free-hanging units can be installed close to working areas or other locations where acoustical treatment is needed in order to achieve suitable conditions for communication, concentration or recovery. Such areas can be, for instance, reception and information counters or refreshment areas, included in larger, noisy spaces. Prolad Raft are engineered acoustical products with an allround scrim facing, finish giving exceptional levels of acoustic performance and high light reflectance. Ideal for noisy environments where traditional acoustic ceilings are either not possible due to structural design limitations or cannot provide the high level of performance required. Acoustic Rafts provide an economic solution with an attractive float’s in the ceilings, a modern visual to enhance todays building interiors. Mineral Fibre Ceiling

Mineral Fiber tile is made from natural or synthetic minerals, including fibreglass, ceramic fibre and stone wool. Industrial applications od mineral wool include thermal insulation (as both structural and pipe insulation), filteration, soundproofing, and germination of seedlings. A dropped ceiling is a secondary ceiling, hung below the main (structural) ceiling. It may also be referred to as a drop ceiling, T-bar ceiling, false ceiling, suspended ceiling, grid ceiling, drop in ceiling, drop out ceiling, or ceiling tiles and is a staple of modern construction and architecture in both residential and commercial applications. A typical dropped ceiling consists of a grid-work of metal channels in the shape of an upside-down “T”, suspended on wires from the overhead structure. These channels snap together in a regularly spaced pattern of cells. Each cell is then filled with lightweight ceiling tiles or “panels” which simply drop into the grid. The primary grid types are “Standard 1” (15/16 face), Slimline (9/16” grid), and concealed grid. The cell size in the suspension grids is typically either 2 ft × 2 ft or 2 ft × 4 ft and the ceiling tiles are the same size. The cell size in the suspension grids is 600×600 mm, while the ceiling tiles are slightly smaller at 595mm x 595mm or 595mm x 1195mm.
